Description
Cheese Grits. Food of the gods.
Ingredients
| 2 | c | water |
| 2 | c | whole milk |
| 1 1⁄2 | t | kosher salt |
| 1 | c | grits, coarse ground cornmeal or polenta |
| 1⁄2 | t | black pepper |
| 4 | T | unsalted butter |
| 4 | oz | shredded cheddar |
Instructions
Place milk, water and salt into a large heavy bottomed pot and bring to a boil. Once the mixture boils, gradually add the cornmeal while stirring. Decrease heat to low and cover. Remove lid and stir frequently to prevent sticking or forming lumps.
Remove from heat and add pepper and butter. Once the butter is melted, gradually add the cheese. Eat up!
