Milk Bread (rolls)
Simple, yet satisfying, this tender bread stays great for days without turning stale. Add a touch extra butter in the mix or when prepping for fantastic rolls.

  1. Combine water and yeast in mixing bowl and let stand for 5 minutes until yeast is dissolved.
  2. Add milk, butter, egg, sugar, and salt and mix for 1 minute.
  3. Gradually stir in flour.
  4. Continue kneading until dough passes the "window pane" test.
  5. Proof until doubled in size.

  6. Punch down dough, rest if necessary, and cut into 1 ounce pieces.

  7. Shape pieces into rolls and lay out on a baking sheet. Brush tops with butter, and cover loosely with plastic wrap. Allow to proof until doubled in size, about an hour.
    Ready to proof
  8. Bake in a pre-heated 375º oven for 10-15 minutes or until golden and delicious!
    Hard to argue with some fresh melted butter brushed on!

Usually takes the upper end of 4 cups of flour or slightly more.
